About Us

what if silence could heal, connect, and include?

This was the profound question we asked when Hush began in 2014 as Singapore’s first Silent TeaBar - a social enterprise committed to rehumanising workplaces, schools and communities through tea, gesture and presence. Completely led by Deaf individuals and persons with lived experience in mental health.
We live in a time of constant noise - where burnout feels normal, and listening feels rare. Hush TeaBar offers a radical alternative: a space where stillness becomes strength, listening becomes connection, and silence becomes inclusion.
Because when we slow down together, we rediscover what it truly means to be human.
What started as a quiet idea has blossomed into a nationwide movement of pause, reflection, and inclusion.

The 3Ps at Hush

Planet

We honour the Earth with every ritual.
Our flowers and leaves are repurposed by Hello Flowers, a social enterprise that gives new life to pre-loved blooms. Our teas, sustainably sourced from Ewasaran & Bros in Sri Lanka, reflect a commitment to ethical partnerships and authentic craft.
Sustainability isn’t an afterthought; it’s a way of being - woven into every session, every sip, every pause.

People

People are the heart of Hush - those who journey with us and those who make our work possible.
Our Hushers (participants) come from workplaces, schools, and communities across Singapore, stepping courageously into silence.
Our Hushies (facilitators) include Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals, persons with lived mental health experience, and allies - all co-creating inclusive spaces for reflection, empathy, and healing.
True inclusion means everyone, especially those often unseen, can belong and be heard.

Performance

At Hush, performance is measured not only by results but by purpose, pride, and care.
For over a decade, we’ve remained self-funded and trusted by workplaces, schools, and communities for the quality and heart of our work.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of empathy, integrity, and excellence - delivering experiences that transform, not just perform.

Our Values

Empathy

Well-Being

Empathy

The foundation of true connection.
At Hush, we create space to see, hear, and honour each other’s lived experiences - especially those often unheard.

Pause

Well-Being

Empathy

In a world that celebrates hustle and noise, we choose to slow down.
Pausing isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity - a moment to breathe, to reflect, and to rediscover presence.

Well-Being

Well-Being

Well-Being

We centre our work around care - for self, others, and community.
To us, well-being isn’t about perfection, but about creating spaces where people feel safe, valued, and free to grow.

The Hearts behind Hush

Through guided silent reflection, gentle expression, and creative exploration, we help people care for themselves, listen to others, and find clarity amidst chaos.

V. Reshii, General Manager, Hush TeaBar

Becoming, not being - holding quiet so others can hear.

Reshii designs and leads the Hush Experience end-to-end, ensuring each session is calm, inclusive and trauma-aware. With roots in psychology, criminology, and lived experience, they help groups slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with empathy, closely collaborating with our Deaf facilitation team to maintain a visual-first and voice-minimal approach.

In a world that rewards noise and speed, Hush invites stillness. In spaces that celebrate speaking, we honour listening.

Low Kok Wah, Lead Facilitator, Hush TeaBar

Made of silence, moving with strength.

With an eye for nature and design, Kok Wah plans every detail to elevate the space with care and intention. He shapes Hush’s visual language, from session materials and wayfinding to reflection cards, gentle documentation and social media. Meticulous and accessibility-minded, he curates natural elements (often upcycled) to keep the ritual calm, clear and inclusive. Always learning, always refining.

In silence we remember who we are - and who we are to each other. In a world that rewards doing, HUSH reminds us the power of simply being.

Humans of hush

We do not employ to produce. We produce so we can employ - and empower.

All HUSH sessions are led by Deaf facilitators and hearing facilitators with lived experience in mental health. We do not focus on scale but on impact and sustainability including developing and training a group of part-time and free lance facilitators as part of our Hush Experience team.

We have also been lovingly supported by many volunteers over the years.

Special thanks to the late Andrea Teo and Chua Ning Pei for their outsized contribution to this quiet movement of wellbeing and connection.
